Windows 11 Update Breaks Wallpapers and Cursors, Microsoft Rushes to Fix
Microsoft's latest Windows 11 update has been plagued by issues, including a bug that breaks desktop wallpapers and cursors. This problem affects users who have installed Build 26200.9278 or newer, released on August 27.
In addition to the wallpaper issue, some users are experiencing problems with their cursors, which can become too large or change color. Another bug is causing Outlook and Teams to crash, although this appears to be less widespread.
Microsoft has confirmed that these issues are caused by a bug in the update's personalization settings, which prevent customized settings from loading correctly. This means that users may end up with a black screen or other unexpected desktop settings.
The company is working on a fix for the issue and plans to release it as soon as possible, although it may not be available before September 8's Patch Tuesday update.
