Windows 11 Update Causes Audio Issues for Some Users

Microsoft's latest Windows 11 update has caused audio issues for some users. The September update, KB5124008, can cause audio devices to stop working on PCs running Windows 11 versions 24H2 and 25H2.

The problem appears to affect USB Audio Class 1.0 devices, where the audio hardware may fail to initialize after installing the update. This means users might find their speakers or other connected audio equipment no longer producing sound even after restarting their computer.

Microsoft has acknowledged the issue and reassured users that they are working on a solution. However, there is currently no confirmed patch available for installation to address the problem.

In the meantime, affected users can try switching to a multichannel audio device to two-channel mode or temporarily using different audio hardware as wireless audio devices do not appear to be affected by this bug.
