Windows 11 Update Causes Audio Output Issues
A recent Windows 11 update has caused issues for some PC users, where audio output stops working. The bug was discovered in the September 2026 update, which fixed nearly 1,000 vulnerabilities.
Devices classified as 'USB Audio Class 1.0' are affected, and may experience problems with sound settings becoming unresponsive or displaying an error message stating, 'This device cannot start.'
Microphone issues have also been reported, where it stops working altogether. Microsoft is currently working on a solution to resolve the problem.
