Windows 11 Update Causes Mouse Cursor and Wallpaper Issues

A recent update for Windows 11 has caused issues with mouse cursors and wallpapers. The August 27 update, known as KB5120998, has been reported to reset or modify personalized settings for the mouse cursor, causing it to appear too large or small or not show up at all.

Microsoft has acknowledged the problem on its Windows 11 known issues page, stating that it is investigating the cause of the issue. The company has also noted that some users are experiencing a black screen as their wallpaper and blurry fonts after installing the update.

The update was released as part of the September preview update and contains changes such as a resizable Start menu, movable taskbar, and cleaner Search window. However, users who have installed this update are advised to uninstall it in order to resolve the issues caused by the problematic settings reset.
