A recent Windows 11 update has caused issues with mouse cursors and desktop wallpapers. The KB5120998 update, released last week as a preview for feature improvements, has been reported to cause glitches with the mouse cursor and change desktop wallpaper settings.
Some users have taken to Reddit to share their experiences, stating that after installing the update, their wallpapers turned black and their mouse cursors became abnormally large. Microsoft has acknowledged the issue and is investigating it.
The company stated that 'reports indicate' mouse cursor personalization settings are being changed or reverted to certain standard settings. The issue appears to be related to high-DPI mouse cursors being replaced with larger, white cursors, and custom cursor animations reverting to standard settings.
