Windows 11 Update Causes USB Audio Issues for Some Users

A recent Windows 11 update has caused issues for some users with USB audio devices. The KB5124008 update, released on September 8, has been linked to problems with USB Audio Class 1.0 devices.

Affected users may experience a Code 10 error in Device Manager, unresponsive volume controls, or no sound output after installing the update.

Microsoft's known-issues page confirms that the problem is limited to Windows 11 versions 24H2, 25H2, and 26H1, with no Windows Server platforms affected.

The issue can be temporary, with some devices working when switched to standard two-channel stereo rather than multichannel or 3D audio. However, this is not a guaranteed solution and Microsoft has promised a permanent resolution.
