Windows 11 Users Get New App-By-App Privacy Controls
Microsoft has started testing new privacy controls for Windows 11 users, allowing them to manage access for individual desktop apps.
The feature is available in the latest Insider Experimental Preview Build 26340.9233 and enables users to review and control permissions for camera, microphone, and location access on an app-by-app basis.
Users can do this by going to Settings > Privacy & security > Camera, Microphone, or Location, where they can grant access using dedicated toggles.
Microsoft warned users to only grant access to apps they trust, as some apps may appear under a different name or as unsigned if Windows can't verify the publisher's information.
