Microsoft's Windows 11 operating system has been criticized for its RAM efficiency, particularly when it comes to the built-in Weather app. According to a recent report, this app consumes nearly 20% of an 8GB system memory, causing unnecessary delay and performance issues.

The Weather app in Windows 11 was found to use around 1.6GB of memory while performing basic tasks, with spikes reaching up to 1.5GB when interacting with the program. This is significantly higher than the macOS built-in Weather app, which uses less than 250MB of system memory.

Moreover, the Windows 11 Weather app displays a multitude of ads while consuming a large amount of memory, making it an encumbrance for users. Microsoft has promised to optimize its operating system for systems with 8GB of RAM, but this progress is yet to be witnessed.
