Wingate Family Home Tied to Coca-Cola Legacy Up for Auction
A piece of Amarillo's history is up for auction at 1704 S. Julian Blvd, a home tied to the city's Coca-Cola Bottling legacy.
The house was owned by Thomas R. Wingate, son of R.B. 'Dick' Wingate, who purchased the Coca-Cola Bottling Company from Thomas M. Nabers in 1927.
Thomas R. Wingate inherited the family business at just 17 years old after his father's unexpected death in 1933.
The home is now being sold as a fixer-upper, with 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, a basement, and a detached 2-car garage.
The online auction ends on Tuesday, September 1, with the current bid at $46,000. Bidders can participate through Assiter Real Estate's website.
