WVU Marks Milestone with Launch of New Student Application Platform
West Virginia University (WVU) has marked a significant milestone with the launch of Slate, a new platform for managing student applications and communications. The launch is the culmination of months of collaborative planning, testing, training, and problem-solving across various teams in Enrollment Management.
According to Vice President of Enrollment Management Fabrizio D'Aloisio, the launch represents more than just the implementation of a new CRM system. 'We didn't just implement a new CRM, together, we transformed how we think about the student experience.'
The University will be working in two systems during August as data migration from Salesforce Learner Org to Slate begins and concludes by the end of the month. For 2027 applicants, staff should start searching for them in Slate first, while prior entry term applicants will remain in Learner Org until migration is complete.
Looking ahead, WVU plans to continue refining and expanding the platform over the coming months, with additional training opportunities for staff and ongoing enhancements from August to December. The University encourages Slate users to regularly check the 'Slate Users' Microsoft Teams channel for updates.
