WWE & Disney Unite for Family-Friendly Events in 2027
World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) is teaming up with Disney to create 'special events' in 2027, aimed at uniting their family audiences. According to TKO Group Holdings President and Chief Operating Officer Mark Shapiro, WWE and Disney are developing events that will bring together fans of both brands.
Shapiro discussed the planned collaboration during a Goldman Sachs Communacopia + Technology Conference on September 8. He noted that WWE's existing relationship with Disney-owned ESPN is an important part of this effort. In August 2025, ESPN and WWE announced a five-year media-rights agreement making ESPN the exclusive U.S. home of WWE's Premium Live Events.
The agreement was initially set to begin in 2026 but started in effect in September 2025 with WWE Premium Live Events debuting on ESPN with Wrestlepalooza. Under this deal, ESPN pays an average of $325 million annually, valuing the total agreement at approximately $1.6 billion.
The collaboration between WWE and Disney is expected to bring together two massive audiences, creating new opportunities for both brands. However, no further details on the nature, timing, or locations of these special events have been released.
