Xbox Cloud Gaming Expands to More TVs Amid Monthly Limits Introduction

Microsoft is expanding its Xbox Cloud Gaming service to more devices, partnering with TCL to bring the Xbox app to select TCL Smart TVs in the coming months. This move will allow users to stream supported Xbox games directly through their TVs without needing an Xbox console.

The partnership comes as Microsoft is also introducing monthly limits on cloud gaming for Game Pass subscribers. Ultimate subscribers will get 15 hours per month, while Premium and Essential subscribers will receive 10 and 5 hours, respectively. This change affects the way users can access cloud gaming, which was previously marketed as an unlimited part of Game Pass.

Microsoft claims that cloud gaming becomes more expensive as usage grows, particularly for longer gameplay sessions. The company estimates that around 4% of Game Pass subscribers will be affected by the new limits, but acknowledges that this may result in a higher cost for some users.
