This 'Disc-to-Digital' feature, available on Xbox One and Series X consoles, lets users insert a disc into the console's optical drive and automatically receive a digital license for the game. The process is simple: insert the disc, select 'Claim digital,' and the game will be added to your account.

Microsoft first introduced this concept 13 years ago with the launch of Xbox One in 2013, but it was met with criticism due to strict DRM controls that required 24-hour online verification. The company withdrew these policies after player backlash.

Now, the 'Disc-to-Digital' feature allows users to claim digital licenses for thousands of games, including titles like *Call of Duty: Black Ops 3* and *Lego Dimensions*. However, the process is not foolproof, with some users reporting issues claiming certain games. The exact whitelist of supported games has not been released by Microsoft.
