Xbox Series X|S Update Brings Improved Streaming, Voice Chat, and More
Microsoft has rolled out an update for Xbox Series X|S consoles that brings several improvements to the gaming experience. The new features include sharper Remote Play streaming, clearer voice chat, customizable startup animations, expanded profile controls, faster local search, and background downloads during cloud gaming.
The most significant upgrade is improved Remote Play streaming, which allows users in the Alpha Skip-Ahead and Alpha Insider rings to test streaming at resolutions of up to 1440p alongside higher video bitrates. This aims to provide sharper visuals and smoother gameplay on supported devices, including PCs, phones, and TVs.
The update also includes a new Voice Clarity setting that reduces background noise during party chat and in-game voice communication, enabled by default for most titles released since 2020.
