Xbox Slashes Cloud Gaming Limits
Xbox Cloud Gaming has announced that it will be coming to TCL TVs in the near future, allowing owners of TCL Smart TVs to play Xbox games via cloud. This follows the launch of the same app on Samsung and LG TVs, as part of Microsoft's attempt to bring hardcore gaming to a wider audience.
To use the Xbox app on these TVs, users will need an Xbox Game Pass subscription. However, Microsoft has recently informed users that it will be significantly reducing the monthly hours available for cloud gaming across all tiers, starting in November.
The new limits are as follows: Game Pass Ultimate will have 15 hours of access per month, while Game Pass Premium and Game Pass Essential will have 10 and 5 hours respectively. This is a significant reduction from the previously unlimited hours.
According to Microsoft, only 4% of its users will be affected by this change, but some argue that this may be an overestimation. For comparison, NVIDIA's GeForce NOW service has more generous limits, with up to 100 hours available per month on its Performance tier.
