XRP Sees Institutional Pivot with Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan Deals
XRP is undergoing a significant institutional pivot, driven by quiet mechanics of finance rather than retail enthusiasm. In the past fortnight, XRP has been involved in a JPMorgan settlement executed in under five seconds, a $275 million debt raise, and a first-time ETF position from Goldman Sachs.
Goldman's disclosure of its maiden XRP ETF holding is notable, with $86.5 million spread across five spot products. This aligns with a recovery in fund flows that had stumbled badly earlier in August, with net inflows collapsing by 93% to just $1.01 million.
The picture has brightened considerably since then, with the seven US spot XRP ETFs recording net inflows of roughly 19.9 million XRP, pushing combined assets to approximately $1.24 billion. Trading volume for the month surpassed $500 million through August 20, including a single-day tally of roughly $125 million.
JPMorgan's blockchain unit Kinexys, working alongside Ripple, Mastercard, and Ondo, completed a cross-border redemption of a tokenized US Treasury fund on the XRP Ledger in under five seconds. This transaction serves as a practical demonstration that the ledger can handle institutional settlement processes outside traditional banking hours.
