Yellow Jackets Suffer Blistering Defeat at Home
Cedarville University's Yellow Jackets suffered a tough loss at home on Thursday afternoon, falling to McKendree 2-0 in a match played under sweltering heat conditions.
The game was scoreless after the first half, with Cedarville controlling much of the attack and outshooting McKendree 6-2. Yonis Velasquez-Quezada and Eddie Merck each managed to get an attempt on target, but the Yellow Jackets were unable to break through.
McKendree's scoring finally began in the 57th minute with a counterattack that broke through Cedarville's defense. They added an insurance goal just before the end of the match, sealing their victory.
