YouTube Adds Amazon Integration for Video Podcasters
YouTube has opened up a new revenue stream for video podcasters by integrating Amazon into its YouTube Shopping Affiliate Program. This move allows eligible U.S. creators to tag Amazon products directly inside videos, Shorts, and livestreams, enabling viewers to shop without relying on affiliate links buried in episode descriptions.
Creators earn commissions on qualifying purchases, which can be a valuable addition to their existing monetization strategies. The integration is currently limited to eligible U.S. creators who must be enrolled in the YouTube Partner Program and YouTube Shopping affiliate program, as well as have an active Amazon Influencer or Associates account.
YouTube has found that its own testing suggests the native approach can generate significantly more engagement than conventional links, with videos using YouTube Shopping product tags alone generating over 110% more product clicks than videos using description links alone in a recent experiment conducted July 14-29.
