YouTube's New Policy Pours Personalized Ads for Boozy Brands
Google is revamping its policy on alcohol ads on YouTube, allowing for some level of personalization starting October 30. Currently, ads for alcoholic beverages are restricted due to policies that disable personalized targeting and allow users to opt out. This has limited the reach of these ads.
The change in policy is attributed to 'customer interest, emerging categories, and improved controls and data protections.'
Personalization will be available for a wide range of alcohol-related products, but with some caveats. In countries with stricter regulations on alcohol advertising, such as Egypt, India, Indonesia, and Poland, this feature will not be accessible.
