Zootopia 3 Takes Flight: Disney Confirms Sequel in Early Development

Disney has confirmed that 'Zootopia 3' is in early development at Walt Disney Animation Studios. The announcement was made by Jared Bush, Disney's Chief Creative Officer for animation, during this year's D23 event. Bush shared that the film will see the animal metropolis of Zootopia welcoming birds to its population.

'You can expect to see all the characters you loved in the first two films as Zootopia goes to the birds with some feathery fliers,' Bush said, according to CBR. The animation studio has not yet revealed a director, writer, or producer for the project, nor has it provided a release date.

Zootopia 3 follows in the footsteps of its predecessor, which became the highest-grossing animated Motion Picture Association film of all time after taking $1.87 billion worldwide. Only China's Ne Zha 2, at $2.26 billion, has grossed more among animated films.
