$1.7 Billion Losses in Domestic Gold Purchase Programme Blamed on High Gold Costs
The Domestic Gold Purchase Programme, administered by the Central Bank of Ghana and the Gold Board, has incurred massive financial losses. The Minority Leader is being praised for his critical assessment skills in identifying the root cause of these losses.
A staggering $1.7billion loss has been attributed to the programme's trading activities. According to Kwaku Badu, a Human Rights ideologue and Star Award winner, the Gold Board was buying gold at an exorbitant price from small-scale miners, while the Central Bank of Ghana was selling it at a low price.
The high cost of purchasing gold, along with service charges and discounts, contributed to the massive losses. The Minority Leader argues that the losses are partly due to the high cost of buying gold from small-scale miners.
Ghana has lost a huge GH22billion, which could have completed several important projects such as the Accra-Kumasi road and employed nurses and teachers. The Minority Leader's critical assessment skills and intuition surpass even that of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
