$4,400 Seller Zone Proves Elusive for Gold as Yields Cap Bullion
Gold prices have been stuck below the $4,400 seller zone due to a strong 10-year Treasury yield of 5.2% and a rising Dollar Index.
The price of spot gold rose to $4,311 on Friday but remains down 1.5% for the week after closing at $4,273 Thursday.
Central banks bought a record 289 tonnes of gold in Q2 2026, up 62% from a year earlier, which is providing some support for the metal.
However, the high yields and a strong dollar are making it expensive to hold gold, which pays no interest.
