$50B South Korean Investment Sparks Hope for Alaska LNG Project
South Korea's investment in Alaska's LNG project has been hailed as a major breakthrough for the Alaskan economy. Glenfarne Group, the developer of the project, celebrated the announcement by President Trump of $50 billion-plus in new investment from South Korean government-backed funds.
However, the Industry Ministry of South Korea has contested some details in the president's announcement. Despite this, the investment is expected to accelerate the Alaska LNG project towards a final investment decision and construction.
The project aims to build an 807-mile pipeline delivering natural gas from the North Slope fields to a coastal terminal that would process close to 20 million metric tons of LNG annually.
