$51 Billion LNG Project Heads to Paris for Final Investment Decision
Argentina LNG's $51 billion export project is nearing a final investment decision (FID) and will be pitched to European investors in Paris this week. The project, which targets initial capacity of 12 million tonnes per annum, integrates the full chain from production in Vaca Muerta to treatment, transport, and export. YPF, Argentina's state-controlled oil and gas company, has already signed a binding joint development agreement with ENI and ADNOC, their partners in the project.
The three founding partners will share their project with investors on October 1 at the OECD headquarters in Paris. The session is part of the second edition of Argentina Week, an investor roadshow launched by the Milei administration to promote investment in the country's energy sector.
Argentina LNG requires $51 billion over its lifetime and about $29 billion through 2031, with roughly $24 billion going towards pipelines, port facilities, processing plants, and liquefaction units. JP Morgan is structuring the financing as lead bank, and EXIM has issued a non-binding indicative term sheet for up to $6 billion tied to purchases of U.S. goods and services.
