$7 Billion Dragon Ball Z Theme Park Coming to Paris

France and Saudi Arabia have announced plans to build a €6 billion ($7 billion) Dragon Ball Z theme park near Paris, as part of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman's state visit to the French capital. The park will sit near Cergy-Pontoise, northwest of Paris, and is expected to create around 22,000 jobs upon completion.

The theme park will be one of three in the development, which is set to rank among Europe's largest. No opening date has been set, but construction is expected to take several years. The parks are planned to open in stages.

Qiddiya Investment Company, part of Saudi Arabia's sovereign wealth fund, will finance the project as part of the kingdom's push to diversify beyond oil. This is not the first time Qiddiya has put its money behind the Dragon Ball franchise, having already started building a similar park near Riyadh, which spans over 500,000 square meters with seven themed zones and more than 30 rides.

The idea for the project was born from a shared enthusiasm between French President Emmanuel Macron and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman during Macron's visit to Saudi Arabia in 2025. Macron is known to be a fan of manga and anime, and his interest in the Dragon Ball series has been well-documented.
