AAFSSigns 50-Year Gas Deal with Bosnia and Herzegovina
American firm AAFS is close to signing a 50-year deal with Bosnia and Herzegovina's Federation to build the Southern Interconnection natural gas pipeline.
The project aims to provide an alternative source of natural gas for the region, currently reliant on Russian supplies via Serbia.
Vedran Lakić, Minister of Energy, Mining and Industry of the Federation of BiH, emphasized that energy security is non-negotiable, as Bosnia and Herzegovina can no longer depend on a single gas route and supplier.
The deal would allow AAFS to manage the pipeline within BiH territory for 30 years under a concession agreement.
