Abaxx Technologies Posts 276% Trading Volume Jump
Abaxx Technologies (TSX:ABXX) saw its trading volumes jump by an impressive 276% in a single quarter, mainly due to the company's decision to invest heavily in building liquidity. The company expanded its business development team and launched several new products, including a silver futures contract. Its prices also became visible on major data terminals such as LSEG and Bloomberg. As a result, Abaxx Exchange traded 888,902 contracts in Q2 2026, up from 236,138 in Q1.
The surge in volumes coincided with the company's listing change, moving to the Toronto Stock Exchange on May 21, 2026. The net loss was C$28.8 million in Q2, including C$12.4 million of non-cash items. However, Abaxx raised C$69.0 million in gross proceeds during the quarter and ended June with C$95.1 million in cash and cash equivalents.
Abaxx's management said that Q2 reflected a deliberate decision to accelerate participation on the exchange, supporting its goal of reaching 1 million contracts in average daily volume (ADV) over the next three to five years. The company spent heavily on market makers, business development, and new products to deepen its order books.
