ADM, Corteva Raise Profit Forecasts as Oilseed Processing Demand Surges
Archer-Daniels-Midland (ADM) and Corteva have raised their 2026 profit forecasts due to strong oilseed processing outlooks and demand across key crop markets. The recent rally in U.S. grain prices, triggered by the Iran war, has led to a surge in farmer selling of corn and soybeans.
ADM expects adjusted earnings between $5.15 and $5.60 per share for 2026, beating their prior forecast of $4.15 and $4.70 per share. Corteva also raised its forecast, anticipating full-year 2026 adjusted earnings between $3.60 to $3.80 per share, up from a prior view of $3.45-$3.70 per share.
Bayer posted an unexpected 1.9% gain in quarterly adjusted profit on strong sales of seed technology related to its dicamba weedkiller. The company's CEO, Bill Anderson, attributed the success to the U.S. Supreme Court's decision to rein in lawsuits claiming Bayer's Roundup weedkiller causes cancer.
