ADNOC and Gulf Group Expand LNG Supply Agreement for Thailand
ADNOC has expanded its partnership with Gulf Group, a leading energy and infrastructure conglomerate in Thailand, through a new multi-year Sales and Purchase Agreement (SPA) for liquefied natural gas (LNG). The deal, facilitated by ADNOC's LNG marketing and trading platform, will see ADNOC Trading deliver approximately 2 million metric tons (MMt) of LNG to Gulf Group starting in 2027. This agreement builds on an earlier LNG supply agreement signed between the two companies in 2025.
Nasser Al Muhairi, Acting CEO of ADNOC Downstream Industry, Marketing & Trading, highlighted that the agreement reinforces ADNOC’s commitment to ensuring reliable energy supplies to Thailand and other Asian customers. He noted that it marks another milestone in ADNOC’s global LNG marketing and trading efforts, enhancing the flexibility and optionality of their LNG solutions to meet growing global demand.
Sarath Ratanavadi, CEO of Gulf Development Public Company Limited, emphasized that the agreement aligns with Gulf Group’s strategy of building a diversified and resilient LNG portfolio. By securing midstream infrastructure, shipping capacity, and relationships with leading suppliers, Gulf Group aims to strengthen its value chain and meet rising energy demand while supporting the region's energy transition.
ADNOC launched its global LNG marketing and trading platform in Abu Dhabi Global Market in July 2026, consolidating its LNG marketing and trading capabilities into a single integrated commercial platform. The platform is designed to enhance flexibility and shipping optionality, strengthening customer access globally. ADNOC Trading, the counterparty for LNG trading activities, has built a significant third-party LNG portfolio within four years and is ranked among the top global LNG financial traders.
