ADNOC and Gulf Group Expand LNG Supply Deal to Thailand
Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) has expanded its partnership with Gulf Group, a leading energy and infrastructure conglomerate in Thailand, through a new multi-year Sales and Purchase Agreement (SPA). The deal, signed on October 5, 2026, will see ADNOC Trading supply approximately 2 million tonnes of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Gulf Group starting in 2027. This agreement builds on an earlier LNG supply deal between the two companies signed in 2025.
Nasser Al Muhairi, Acting CEO of ADNOC Downstream Industry, Marketing & Trading, emphasized the company's commitment to ensuring reliable energy supplies to Asia. He noted that the agreement reinforces ADNOC's global LNG marketing and trading platform, enhancing the scale and flexibility of its LNG solutions to meet growing global demand.
Gulf Group's CEO, Mr. Sarath Ratanavadi, highlighted how the agreement aligns with the company's strategy of building a diversified and resilient LNG portfolio. He mentioned that securing midstream infrastructure, shipping capacity, and relationships with leading suppliers strengthens every link of their value chain, enabling them to meet growing energy demand while supporting the region's energy transition.
ADNOC launched its global LNG marketing and trading platform in Abu Dhabi Global Market in July 2026, consolidating its LNG marketing and trading capabilities into a single integrated commercial platform. The platform aims to optimize a growing and diverse LNG portfolio, targeting 47 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of marketable LNG beyond 2030. ADNOC Trading, acting as the counterparty for LNG trading activities, connects the portfolio with customers across key international markets.
