ADNOC, Abu Dhabi's national oil company, has acquired 11 supertankers for $1.3 billion to expand its export fleet.

The company bought five Very Large Gas Carriers (VLGCs) and six Very Large Crude Carriers (VLCCs), with nine vessels purchased on the secondary market.

Nine of these ships, including six VLCCs and three VLGCs, are scheduled to be delivered this quarter and will enter service immediately after delivery. Two additional VLGCs, which are newbuild vessels from a Chinese shipyard, will be delivered in the fourth quarter of 2026.

This move supports ADNOC's goal of increasing its shipping capacity for crude oil and gas.
