DDGS Export Prices Steady Amid Slightly Lower Ethanol Production
The U.S. Grains and Bioproducts Council reported that distillers dried grains with solubles (DDGS) export market prices were steady on average as of August 6. The CIF NOLA barge price was down $5 at $225 metric ton, while the FOB vessel Gulf price was down $1 at $243 mt. Rail delivered DDGS to the Pacific Northwest and California saw declines of $16 and $12 respectively.
U.S. ethanol production averaged 1.107 million barrels per day in the week ending July 31, according to the Energy Information Administration. This represents a decrease of 26,000 bpd from the previous week but is still 14,000 bpd higher than in the same period last year.
June exports of DDGS reached an eight-month high of 1.10 million metric tons, with notable increases to Mexico (up 10% to 231,951 mt), Indonesia (up 22% to a record 166,925 mt), and Vietnam (up 19% to 134,284 mt).
