Adnoc Expands LNG Supply to Thailand with Second Agreement
Adnoc has strengthened its long-term energy ties with Thailand by signing a second liquefied natural gas (LNG) supply agreement with Gulf Group. The multi-year deal, effective from 2027, covers around 2 million tons of LNG. While the exact financial terms and duration were not disclosed, this agreement builds on a previous one signed in 2025, underscoring the growing energy partnership between the UAE and Thailand.
The agreement was announced alongside other significant moves by UAE-based companies. AD Ports Group completed its largest acquisition to date, purchasing Brazilian agri-bulk terminal operator CLI for $835 million. This marks AD Ports' first entry into South America, with plans to facilitate the export of Brazilian farm products to Abu Dhabi.
Meanwhile, the UAE has introduced stricter cargo clearance procedures. Under the new MPCI program, shipping lines and freight forwarders must now file cargo data before a container is loaded at the origin port, replacing the previous rule of filing at least 48 hours before arrival.
