Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) is exploring opportunities in Canada's upstream and liquefied natural gas sectors through its international arm, XRG. This move comes as ADNOC looks to expand its energy investments abroad.

Musabbeh Al Kaabi, ADNOC's CEO of upstream, said that he is encouraged by Canada's renewed focus on energy development. He mentioned that the country is seeking to market itself as a source of safe and secure energy during a time of global uncertainty.

Canada has been looking to diversify its exports beyond the United States in light of tariff threats from President Donald Trump. The country's new LNG export industry has attracted interest from global customers, with Germany's SEFE and Uniper being recent examples.
