ADNOC Inks Multi-Year LNG Supply Deal with Thailand’s Gulf Group
Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) has secured a long-term deal to supply approximately 2 million tonnes of liquefied natural gas (LNG) annually to Thailand's Gulf Group, set to begin in 2027. The agreement, formalized through ADNOC Trading, extends a supply partnership that was first established in 2025.
Nasser Al Muhairi, Acting CEO of ADNOC Downstream Industry, Marketing & Trading, emphasized that the agreement strengthens ADNOC's commitment to providing reliable energy supplies to Thailand and other Asian markets. He noted that the deal is a key milestone in ADNOC's global LNG marketing and trading strategy, enhancing the flexibility and scalability of its LNG solutions.
The partnership follows the launch of ADNOC's global LNG marketing and trading platform in July 2026, which centralizes its LNG trading activities. ADNOC aims to achieve 47 million tonnes per annum of marketable LNG beyond 2030, with ADNOC Trading managing these activities and connecting its portfolio with international customers.
Sarath Ratanavadi, CEO of Gulf Development, highlighted that the agreement aligns with Gulf Group's strategy of diversifying its LNG portfolio. He stated that securing midstream infrastructure, shipping capacity, and relationships with leading suppliers strengthens the company's value chain, enabling it to meet growing energy demand while supporting regional energy transitions.
