ADNOC Secures Multi-Year LNG Supply Deal with Thai Power Developer
Abu Dhabi National Oil Co PJSC (ADNOC) announced a new multi-year deal on Tuesday to supply approximately two million metric tons per annum (MMtpa) of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Gulf Development Public Co Ltd, a Thai electricity developer. The agreement, set to begin in 2027, extends a partnership established through their first LNG supply agreement signed in 2025.
Gulf received a license in January 2025 to import up to 6.4 MMtpa of LNG into Thailand to fuel its power plants. Gulf chief executive Sarath Ratanavadi highlighted that the new agreement aligns with their strategy to build a diversified and resilient LNG portfolio, securing midstream infrastructure and relationships with leading suppliers.
Earlier this year, ADNOC launched an integrated commercial platform for its LNG sales activities, combining the marketing efforts of ADNOC Gas PLC and XRG PJSC with the trading activities of ADNOC Trading Ltd. The platform aims to enhance flexibility, support ADNOC Gas's expanding LNG portfolio, and strengthen Abu Dhabi's position as a global energy trading center.
ADNOC also has its own shipping arm, ADNOC Logistics and Services PLC (ADNOC L&S), and plans to more than double its LNG production capacity by 2028 through the under-construction Ruwais LNG, which has a planned capacity of 9.6 MMtpa.
