ADNOC to Supply 2 Million Tonnes of LNG to Thailand by 2027
ADNOC has signed a multi-year Sales and Purchase Agreement (SPA) with Gulf Group, a leading Thai energy and infrastructure conglomerate, to supply up to 2 million tonnes of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Thailand. The deal, facilitated by ADNOC's LNG marketing and trading platform, marks another step in the company's global gas growth strategy. Deliveries will begin in 2027 under this agreement, extending a partnership that started with their first LNG supply deal in 2025.
Nasser Al Muhairi, Acting CEO of ADNOC Downstream Industry, Marketing & Trading, emphasized that this agreement reinforces ADNOC’s commitment to reliable energy supplies in Asia. It also highlights the company's ability to provide flexible and scalable LNG solutions to meet growing global demand. Sarath Ratanavadi, CEO of Gulf Development Public Company Limited, noted that the deal supports Gulf Group's strategy of building a diversified and resilient LNG portfolio, ensuring flexibility to meet rising energy needs while aiding the region's energy transition.
ADNOC launched its global LNG marketing and trading platform in 2026, consolidating its LNG marketing and trading capabilities into a single commercial platform. The platform aims to enhance flexibility and shipping optionality, strengthening customer access worldwide. With a target of 47 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of marketable LNG beyond 2030, ADNOC Trading is positioning itself as a leading global LNG player, connecting its diverse LNG portfolio with customers across key international markets.
