ADNOC to Supply 2 Million Tonnes of LNG to Thailand by 2027
ADNOC has secured a long-term agreement with Gulf Group to supply up to 2 million tonnes of liquefied natural gas (LNG) annually to Thailand starting in 2027. The multi-year Sales and Purchase Agreement (SPA) was finalized through ADNOC’s LNG marketing and trading platform, underscoring the company’s strategy to expand its global gas business and strengthen its presence in international markets.
Nasser Al Muhairi, Acting CEO of ADNOC Downstream Industry, Marketing & Trading, highlighted the deal as a significant milestone. “This agreement builds on our first LNG supply agreement with Gulf Group and reinforces ADNOC’s commitment to ensuring reliable energy supplies to Thailand and our Asian customers,” he said. The partnership aligns with ADNOC’s goal of positioning itself among the world’s leading LNG suppliers, targeting over 47 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of marketable LNG beyond 2030.
Sarath Ratanavadi, CEO of Gulf Development Public Company, emphasized the importance of the deal for Gulf Group’s strategy. “This agreement builds on the relationship we have established with ADNOC since 2025 and reflects our strategy: a diversified, resilient LNG portfolio anchored by our trading business,” he stated. The deal also secures midstream infrastructure and shipping capacity, enhancing Gulf Group’s ability to meet growing energy demand in the region.
ADNOC’s integrated LNG marketing and trading platform, launched in Abu Dhabi Global Market in July 2026, plays a key role in expanding the company’s LNG portfolio. The platform combines marketing and trading capabilities, offering greater flexibility and shipping options. The latest agreement extends a partnership between ADNOC and Gulf Group that began with an LNG supply deal in 2025.
