ADNOC Vessel Attacked While Transiting Strait of Hormuz Amid Ongoing Shipping Disruptions

UAE's Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) reported that one of its vessels was attacked while transiting the Strait of Hormuz on Friday. According to Emirati state news agency WAM, no injuries were reported and the situation is now under control.

This incident marks the third such attack involving ADNOC vessels in less than a week. The UAE had previously accused Iran of being behind earlier attacks, but there was no official comment from the UAE on Friday's attack.

The Strait of Hormuz is a critical waterway that connects Oman and Iran, through which about one-fifth of the world's oil and liquefied natural gas passes before reaching global markets. Since the U.S.-Israeli war with Iran broke out on February 28, shipping has been repeatedly disrupted, raising freight rates and creating security concerns.
