Africa Unleashes Energy Potential Through Interconnected Pipelines and LNG Terminals
The African continent is transforming its energy architecture from isolated extraction points into an interconnected grid.
Major energy corridors, including physical pipeline networks and liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminals, are enabling Africa to become a significant energy supplier to global markets.
Two parallel megaprojects originating in Nigeria, the Trans-Saharan Gas Pipeline (TSGP) and the African Atlantic Gas Pipeline (AAGP), will supply European consumers with natural gas. The TSGP spans 4,128 km through Nigeria, Niger, and Algeria, while the AAGP runs along West Africa's Atlantic coast across 13 nations.
The TSGP faces significant geopolitical risks due to its Sahel route, whereas the AAGP benefits from stable jurisdictions. Egypt's energy position presents a striking contrast with immediate operational capacity, making it an indispensable partner for Europe.
