Agricultural Futures Contracts Decline Across the Board
The Chicago Board of Trade reported on September 17, 2026, that several agricultural futures contracts experienced declines. Corn Futures saw December down by 3 cents at $5.31 and March down by 4 cents at $5.44 per bushel. Soybean Futures also fell, with November down by a cent at $13.19 and January down by a cent at $13.36.
Wheat Futures took a hit as well, with December down by 5 cents at $7.25 and March down by 4 cents at $7.42 per bushel. Live Cattle Futures saw October down by $282 at $215.62 and December down by $400 at $216.20 per hundredweight. Feeder Cattle Futures also declined, with October down by $545 at $324.20 and November down by $450 at $318.60.
The Wanstead Farmers Co-operative reported similar declines for 2026 and 2027 crop prices. Corn prices fell to $6.76 per bushel in 2026 and $6.49 per bushel in 2027. Soybean prices dropped to $17.35 per bushel in 2026 and $16.32 per bushel in 2027. Soft White Winter Wheat prices also declined, with 2026 crop down by 3 cents at $8.62 per bushel and 2027 crop down by 4 cents at $9.03 per bushel.
Great Lakes Grain in Mitchell reported similar declines for 2026 and 2027 crop prices. Corn prices fell to $6.70 per bushel in 2026 and $6.44 per bushel in 2027. Soybean prices dropped to $17.44 per bushel in 2026 and $16.41 per bushel in 2027.
The Ontario Pork Reports stated that the U-S CME price was down by $0.44 from the previous day at $85.60 per hundredweight, dressed weight. The 100% formula price was also down by $0.67 at $216.04 per hundred kilograms, dressed weight.
