Agricultural Markets See Fluctuations on August 5th
The agricultural markets saw some changes on Wednesday, August 5th, according to the latest data from various sources. On the Chicago Board of Trade, Corn Futures for September and December both dropped by 4 cents, settling at $4.37 and $4.60 per bushel respectively.
Soybean Futures also declined, with September down half a cent at $11.58 and November down 1 cent at $11.76. Wheat Futures saw an increase, with September up 5 cents at $6.44 and December up 5 cents at $6.62 per bushel.
Live Cattle Futures showed gains as well, with October up $152 to $229.42 and December up $152 to $228.80 per hundredweight. Feeder Cattle Futures also rose, with September up $262 to $348.77 and October up $260 to $339.75.
The Andersons at Kent Bridge reported the following prices for 2026 and 2027 crops: Corn down 5 cents at $6.00/Bu and down 1 cent at $5.99/Bu respectively, Soybeans down 3 cents at $15.50/Bu and up a quarter cent at $14.90/Bu. Soft White Winter Wheat was up 2 cents at $8.19/Bu for 2026 but down 12 cents at $7.79/Bu. For 2027, it was up 5 cents at $8.66/Bu.
Underwood Grain reported similar prices: Corn down 5 cents at $6.00/Bu and down 1 cent at $5.98/Bu respectively for 2026 and 2027 crops. Soybeans were down 3 cents at $15.49/Bu and up a quarter cent at $14.95/Bu. Soft White Winter Wheat was down 12 cents at $7.79/Bu for 2026 but down 13 cents at $8.12/Bu.
Ontario Pork reported the U-S CME price at $97.07 per hundredweight, which is a decrease of $0.19 from the previous day. The 100% formula price was up $0.19 to $247.30 per hundred kilograms.
