Al-Rawda Industrial City's Natural Gas Project Breaks Ground with Emirati Funding
Prime Minister Jafar Hassan marked a significant milestone in Jordan's industrial development by laying the cornerstone for the Al-Rawda Industrial City's Natural Gas Project. The project, estimated to cost 10 million dinars, is financed through an Emirati grant from the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development as part of a larger allocation worth nearly 50 million dinars dedicated to supplying natural gas to industrial hubs across several governorates.
The initiative falls in line with the government's strategic roadmap to integrate natural gas infrastructure into industrial zones nationwide, aiming to reduce industrial energy costs by 35-60 percent. The project is scheduled for completion within 18 months and will enhance Al-Rawda Industrial City's competitive edge, attract fresh investments, boost national export capacities, and generate sustainable employment.
In a recent move, the Council of Ministers granted Al-Rawda Industrial City preferential investment incentives matching those of Karak and Tafilah industrial cities. These provisions include subsidized energy tariffs, financial support for local labor wages, discounted container handling fees at the Port of Aqaba, and reduced land acquisition costs.
