Alamos Gold Sees Momentum Continue with Record Gold Prices and Island Gold District
Alamos Gold Inc., listed on both the Toronto Stock Exchange and the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol AGI, has been building momentum around its gold portfolio. The company spent two years assembling a multi-mine growth strategy, and 2026 is testing whether it can sustain this momentum.
With record gold prices filling its coffers, Alamos Gold's expanded Island Gold District is running at record rates, producing a total of 130,600 ounces of gold in the second quarter. This represents a 5% increase over the first quarter, with an average realised price of US$4,504 per ounce.
However, management also revised full-year 2026 guidance, lowering expected production to 510,000 to 560,000 ounces from a prior 570,000 to 650,000 ounces, and raising cost guidance. This is a reminder that growth in mining rarely runs in a straight line.
