Alamos Gold Surges as Gold Price Hits Record High
Alamos Gold (TSX:AGI) has quietly become a gold-market heavyweight, thanks to its strong second-quarter results. The Canadian intermediate producer reported record earnings and cash flow, driven by a gold price above $4,000 an ounce.
The company's revenue jumped 36% year-over-year to $594.1 million, with net earnings reaching $270.4 million, or $0.64 per share. Alamos also raised its all-in sustaining cost (AISC) guidance to $1,775-$1,875 an ounce.
The company attributed the reduced production forecast to lower mining rates and grades at its Young-Davidson mine in Ontario, which was affected by a seismic event in June. However, analysts remain positive about Alamos' prospects, citing its strong balance sheet and growth pipeline.
