Alberta Pipeline Projects Gain Momentum with Government Support
Alberta energy leaders are expressing optimism about the future of pipeline projects in the province. This positivity stems from recent developments, including Alberta's submission of a plan to build a $1 million-barrel-a-day pipeline and a memorandum of understanding between governments and the Oil Sands Alliance.
Tamarack Valley Energy CEO Brian Schmidt said that pipeline proposals and government efforts are giving industry leaders hope that major projects can get across the finish line. He noted that 'the confidence that Canada is giving investors is way better' than in previous years.
Some energy companies, such as Mullen Group, have already started to capitalize on this renewed optimism by increasing their capital expenditures and hiring more workers. Mullen's chair and senior executive officer, Murray Mullen, said that the company has a 'higher level of confidence today than we did at the start of the year' due to recent government efforts.
