Algeria Welcomes Brazilian DDG Imports
Algeria has opened its market to imports of dried distillers grains (DDG) from Brazil, according to an announcement by Brazil's Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock and Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday (29). DDG is a byproduct of corn ethanol production in Brazil, where it is rich in fats, fiber, and protein, making it a valuable alternative to soybean and corn meal in cattle and poultry feed.
Brazil is one of the world's largest producers of DDG, with Morocco also having opened its market to imports from Brazil in 2024. The ministries confirmed that other markets have been opened for products from Antigua and Barbuda, China, Chile, and Paraguay.
