Swiss-based offshore contractor Allseas has secured a contract from Houston-based Western LNG to install the subsea section of the Prince Rupert Gas Transmission (PRGT) pipeline in northwest Canada.

The PRGT pipeline will deliver natural gas to the planned Ksi Lisims LNG export facility. This project is expected to bring economic benefits to the region and increase North America's liquefied natural gas exports.

On a separate note, US LNG plants sent 35 cargoes during the week ending July 29, up from one cargo more than the previous week. Atlantic spot LNG rates have dropped below $80,000 per day due to a decrease in demand and supply chain disruptions.
