Local gold prices plummeted in Amman on Monday, according to the General Association for Owners of Jewelry and Gemstone Shops. The market saw a sharp decline of JD2.50 piasters, with the selling price of one gram of 21-karat gold reaching JD84.50 at jewelry shops.
The buying price stood at JD80.70 per gram, while the prices for 24-karat and 18-karat gold were recorded at JD97.00 and JD74.90 per gram respectively.
