Andalusia to Produce Record Amount of Olive Oil in 2026-2027 Campaign
Andalusia, Spain is expected to produce a record amount of olive oil in the upcoming 2026-2027 campaign. According to the regional government's estimates, the province will yield 1,261,200 tons of olive oil, which represents an increase of 23.9% compared to the previous campaign and 44% above the average production over the last five years.
The majority of this production is expected to come from Jaén, which accounts for 45.6% of the total and is estimated to produce around 575,000 tons of olive oil. Córdoba follows closely behind with an estimated production of 339,700 tons, while Sevilla is expected to produce approximately 142,000 tons.
The regional government also highlighted the growth in organic olive groves, which have increased by 77% over the last decade and now account for 8.3% of the total olive grove area. Organic olive oil production is expected to reach a new high of 60,400 tons this campaign, representing an increase of 80.5% compared to the previous year.
The minister responsible for agriculture in Andalusia emphasized the importance of the olive sector and the region's leadership in olive oil production. He also announced the publication of regulatory bases for aid aimed at promoting integrated olive production in the region.
